Final Day of the Trip
Final day for all of us at Maasai Mara. A few of us opt not to go out for the safari drive but instead stayed back and collect other type of shots
Some shots of the camp we stayed in…
BaseCamp Explorer
The next pictures have some interesting stuff to look at… and yes, it’s the US President Barack Obama who also stayed at the same camp I stayed in.
Our final lunch together
Back on the road again and this time to the airstrip…note below is the first dog I have seen in Kenya since the beginning of the journey.
We finally reached the airstrip after some very bumpy and dusty road… Note that the tree is the control tower. just kidding…it’s just a landing strip and a security person to help out if needed.
Our plane finally arrived… every one helped out to get the bags to the plane.
Off we go back to Nairobi..
We arrived safely at the regional airport and we made a little detour to the supermarket Carrefour to buy some coffee and tea for our trip home. At 6:45 pm, we headed to this restaurant called Carnivore and we became a meat-eater. Since it’s all you can eat, it cost each of us USD $36 plus drink another USD $5. You can read from the menu below what they served. However, a few of us ate some of the exotic meats including crocodile, ostrich and ox ball. I like the crocodile meat as it wasn’t as chewy as I thought it would be. The ostrich meat tasted like softer turkey meat. I ran out of room for the ox ball and I believe our Taiwanese friend, Kevin ate them. We paid our bill and left by 8:15 pm for the International Airport.
We arrived at the airport to catch our flights home and my aunt got her business class connection to get us a faster check-in. Almost everyone left for Bangkok then to Kuala Lumpur or Taipei. However, for myself, I have a flight to catch to Dubai where my adventure continues…
That’s it folks… See ya next time…

What a beautiful collection of photos! Really impressed!
Such a fantasy adventure. Great bird, animal, safari, and housing images. Very good presentation and narration.
Did you try dancing as high as the Masai do?
When my wife, Carol, and I went on a Safari it included Tanzania. Did your Safari include a hot air balloon ride and champagne breakfast on the Tanzania plains?
Loki
amazing photo Boon. it was pleasure to meet you and b your guide
Hi Loki,
Haha… we skipped the dancing part as they were running late on the performance and we had to get up at 4:30am the next morning.
They had hot air balloon ride available and the take off point was just down from our camp but we opted not to ride on it.
Boon
Hello Boon! I enjoyed reading your narration of each day and the pictures are priceless. I am happy your trip was a success and you and your aunt arrived home safely. Thank you so much for sharing your trip. Amazing!
